Simon Fraser University, the Department of Sociology and Anthropology invites applications for a tenure-track position
in
sociology at the rank of Assistant Professor for January 1, 2005. This position is subject to budgetary approval.
The department is seeking a sociologist with theoretical and empirical field research expertise in any of the following four
(4) areas--migration and development, social/indigenous movements, popular culture, environment and society--AND a
Latin
American regional focus on Brazil, the Caribbean/Central America or the Andes. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D.
in Sociology, demonstrated teaching ability in core undergraduate sociological theory and/or methodology. One-quarter
of
the undergraduate teaching load will be within the affiliated Latin American Studies Program housed in the Department
of
Sociology and Anthropology.
