Sociology - Simon Fraser University, Department of Sociology and Anthropology invites applications for a tenure track
position
in Sociology, Rank Open, commencing September 1, 2005. The Department seeks a specialist in the sociology of health,
with
expertise in one or more of the following: health policy; the political economy of health; health inequality; population health
(the social and cultural determinants of health). Applicants with a strong background in Canadian and international
comparative
analyses will be given preference. The successful candidate will have a PhD in Sociology, a demonstrated record of
excellence
in teaching in the sociology of health and core sociological methodology courses (including introductory and quantitative
research methods) and a proven track record in research, including obtaining research funding.
Applicants should provide a curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching and research interests, current and projected research
activities, a sample of current publications and evidence of teaching accomplishment and arrange for three letters of
reference
