POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
The Department of Sociology at the University of California, Santa Cruz, invites applicants for a tenure-track assistant
professorship in the Sociology of Work and Global Information Technologies. We seek colleagues with strong empirical
research experience and interests in one or more of the following areas: digital work, the labor process, and/or income and
wealth distribution in the new global information economy. The campus is especially interested in candidates who can
contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their research, teaching, and service. RANK:
Assistant Professor. SALARY: $47,200 - $52,700, commensurate with qualifications and experience. MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in sociology or related discipline, prefer Ph.D. by June 30, 2007, must be conferred by June
30, 2008. Must have evidence of research activity and teaching excellence, or potential for excellence in university
teaching.
