POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
The Department of Sociology at the University of California, Santa Cruz, http://sociology.ucsc.edu, invites applications for a tenure-track assistant
professorship who complement our strengths in information and media technologies. We seek colleagues with strong
empirical research experience and interests in one or more of the following areas: work and the labor process and/or income
and wealth distribution, cultures of production and consumption, new global informational and cultural economy. Position
available July 1, 2006. Salary range is $46,300-51,700. Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in sociology or related discipline,
prefer Ph.D. by June 2006; must be conferred by June 30, 2007. Must have evidence of research activity and teaching
excellence, or potential for excellence in university teaching. Applicants should provide a letter of application, curriculum
vitae, three letters of recommendation (all letters will be treated as confidential documents; please direct your references
