POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Eastern Michigan University (EMU) is now seeking an assistant professor, appointment to begin in fall 2006. This will be
a tenure-track, joint appointment in Sociology and Women's & Gender Studies. Desired areas of specialization include
International/Comparative/Globalization Studies and Applied Sociology. The candidate will be expected to teach
introductory courses in EMU's new Women's & Gender Studies and Applied Sociology programs. A Ph.D. in Sociology,
Women's & Gender Studies, or a closely related field is required at the time of appointment. We are seeking a diverse pool
of candidates with respect to gender and ethnic background. EMU's faculty is a collective bargaining unit (AAUP) and
