POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
The Department of Sociology (50% appointment) and the African American Studies & Research Program (AASRP) (50%
appointment) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign announce a joint position effective August 16, 2006 or
negotiable after closing date. The position is part of a multi-year expansion and enhancement of the AASRP. We are
seeking to hire an Assistant Professor whose PhD is in hand by August 1, 2006, preferably with a PhD in sociology, with
strong quantitative methodological skills, with a research area in public policy, preferably poverty, health or urban
community development who comes with a background in African American Studies. To apply, send a letter of application,
