POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Brown University invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning July 1, 2006. We are looking
for
a candidate who examines substantive sociological issues from a comparative and/or historical perspective. There is a
preference
for candidates whose interests focus on the developing world, and who are prepared to teach theory. The competitive
candidate
should show excellent potential for becoming a leading scholar and generating externally raised research funding.
Excellence
in teaching is expected and highly valued.
