POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Middle Tennessee State University Department of Sociology & Anthropology invites applications for two positions (#
129080 and 129300); Asst./Asso.; Ph.D. in Sociology is expected by appointment date. Successful candidates will join a
department of 12 sociologists and 6 anthropologists with a variety of applied and substantive interests. Candidates at the
Assistant level should provide evidence of an active research agenda, teaching experience and professional activity.
Associate level candidates additionally should have a well-established publication record. A history of externally funded
research is a plus. Areas of substantive interests are open. However, special consideration may be given to applicants with
expertise in medical sociology, family, social inequality, and race and ethnicity. Candidates will be expected to teach
courses in their area(s) of expertise at the undergraduate and graduate level and contribute to an MA program with both
basic and applied emphases.
