TENURE TRACK POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
SUNY Brockport
State University of New York Brockport. The Sociology Department invites applications for one or more full time, tenure
track Assistant Professor appointments (3 3 teaching load), beginning August, 2005, pending budgetary approval. Required
qualifications: Ph.D. by time of appointment; demonstrated proficiency in teaching; ability to conduct and publish scholarly
research; and capacity to work with a culturally diverse population. Candidates must be willing to actively participate in
college and departmental tasks and are expected to teach introduction to sociology. Preferred specialties in one of the
following areas: medical/health/lifecourse and/or organizations/work/occupations with preference given to someone who
will teach theory or social psychology on a rotational basis. Future department plans include developing a focus in applied
sociology and working with non-profit organizations.
