POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
The Department of Sociology seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Sociology beginning Fall `05. Area of teaching
and research interests are open but should compliment the department s current focus on civic engagement, social justice,
and global change. The department is undergoing an exciting rebuilding phase of both staff and curriculum. We seek a
broadly trained sociologist who is prepared to teach a methods course, one or more of the following: Social Deviance,
Domestic Violence, Corporate/ White Collar/ Professional Crime, Urban, and seminars in the candidate s areas of interest.
PhD in hand, advanced ABDs considered. The successful candidate will be a dedicated and proven teacher with a liberal
arts orientation, interested in advising, committed to carrying out research with undergraduates, and excited to assist in
departmental growth. West Virginia Wesleyan (www.wvwc.edu) is a liberal arts college of 1500 students located in the
