The Department of Labor Studies and Employment Relations at Penn State University invites applications for a faculty
appointment at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor rank to begin August 2007.
The Department welcomes applications from all candidates with strong backgrounds in labor and employment relations
and related social sciences. Weare particularly interested in candidates with research and teaching interestsin industrial
relations, international and comparative employment relations,human resources, workplace diversity, and new approaches
to work andemployment.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline. Candidates for the Assistant Professor rank should possess
significant research and funding potential; candidates for the Associate Professor rank should have a strong research record
and a demonstrated ability to obtain external funding.
The Department of Labor Studies and Employment Relations is a multidisciplinary department with a large undergraduate
program and a small, but strong, masters program. Applications consisting of a letter of application, curriculum vitae, three
