POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Women's Studies
The Women's Studies Program at the University of Nevada, Reno invites applications for a tenure track assistant
professorship to begin Fall 2007. The Women's Studies program offers an undergraduate major and minor and is
developing an M.A. in Gender, Race and Identity Studies. The successful candidate will have a strong background in
interdisciplinary feminist approaches and must have research and teaching interests in intersections of gender, race, class,
ethnicity, sexuality or related areas. A strong record of research and teaching as well as publication and potential for
continuing productivity are required. The position will be a joint appointment with a social science department. A Ph.D.
in Women's and/or Gender Studies or a Ph.D. in a social science with an emphasis in women's or gender studies is
required.
Chicana/o and Latina/o Studies, African/African American Studies, Native American Studies, Queer Studies, Disabilities
Studies, and Transnational or Comparative International Feminisms are areas of particular interest to us. Applicants should
be prepared to teach both undergraduate courses and graduate courses. Candidates must have a commitment to cultural
diversity. Reno/Tahoe is a growing area with excellent access to outdoor recreation and entertainment.
