ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, SOCIOLOGY

The Department of Sociology invites applications for a tenure track, Assistant Professor position beginning August 2007.
We seek candidates with an earned doctorate in Sociology, or ABD status with documented evidence of near completion.
A PhD is required for appointment as Assistant Professor. Research specialization open but evidence of an active research
agenda required. The successful candidate will be expected to enhance the department's contribution to the University's
General Education Program and its Freshman Year Experience. The candidate will teach Social Problems and Introduction
to Sociology in addition to courses in their specialties. Ability and willingness to teach and mentor first and second year
students is essential.
