POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Announcement: Two Positions of Assistant Professor of Sociology
Department of Anthropology, Sociology, and Social Work
1) The department is currently searching for a qualified individual with an interest in teaching undergraduate courses and
an active research program. This is a full-time, tenure-track position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in sociology from a regionally accredited institution by the time of appointment,
evidence of teaching effectiveness, strong scholarly record and/or potential, and willingness to participate in campus
governance. The applicant must have the ability to teach Introductory Sociology Social Problems. While area of
specialization is open, experience in social psychology is preferred. Ability to participate in a capstone course for the
sociology program is preferred.
All faculty are evaluated on the basis of teaching, scholarship, and service.
Salary is competitive and based on credentials.

Research Methods. This is a full-time, tenure-track position.

evidence of teaching effectiveness, strong scholarly record and/or potential, and willingness to participate in campus
governance. The ability to teach Introductory Sociology, Social Problems, and participate in a capstone course for the
sociology program is preferred.
