The Fraser Center for Workplace Issues is an endowed center conducting research on labor and workplace issues. It is part
of the newly established Labor@Wayne, an administrative unit reporting to the dean of the College of Liberal Arts and
Sciences. Labor@Wayne includes the Fraser Center, the Labor Studies Center, an undergraduate bachelor's degree in labor
studies, and a master's degree in industrial relations. The mission of Labor@Wayne is to marshal and coordinate the
resources of the university in order to strengthen the capacity of unions to represent the needs and interests of workers and
their communities in an increasingly complex and challenging global environment.
The director of the Fraser Center and Labor@Wayne will provide leadership for the development of Labor@Wayne and
its research agenda. In addition to existing resources, the university is committed to providing four additional faculty
positions and an endowed chair.
Applicants should have a strong research record; possess a Ph.D. in labor relations, psychology, economics, history,
sociology, or a related field; administrative experience; and a record of collaboration with unions. Applications should be
