POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
University of Massachusetts-Amherst. The Department of Sociology invites applications for up to four tenure-track
positions beginning Fall 2007. Two positions will be at the assistant professor level. One or more positions may be
appointed at the Associate or early Full Professor levels. Substantive specializations are open. We anticipate hiring one or
more candidates who can make contributions to the core curriculum in theory. The department has a strong Ph.D. program
in Sociology and candidates should be interested in making significant contributions to that program. Applications received
after October 15 cannot be assured full consideration. Applicants should have firm expectations of a completed
PhD by September 2008 and be eager to join an intellectually lively, growing department. The department and the university
