Fall 2007: Economic of Work

Saturdays 10:40PM – 1:25PM from Sept 8 until Dec 15, 111 State Hall

This course provides a theoretical and empirical treatment of the following:

  • labor market characteristics
  • labor demand and supply
  • issues of race, gender, and age
  • compensation and pay
  • issues of health and productivity
  • bargaining processes and the effects of unions; unemployment and job search
  • globalization.

This course is intended for undergraduate Labor Studies students and graduate students in the MAIR program. This course does not count towards an Economics major or minor. Graduate students should register for ECO 6480 and undergraduates should register for ECO 5480. If you are registered in the wrong number, please contact Registration about performing a Drop/Switch.
